In-Kind Donations

New Avenues for Youth gratefully accepts donations of needed items to support our programs and the youth we serve.

Due to limited storage capacity, we ask that you contact us prior to your donation drop-off at info@newavenues.org or 503-517-3900 to confirm that we are able to accept your donation. We are accepting donations on an appointment basis, and are unable to take drop-off contributions.

Needed Items

  • New underwear (in all gender styles and sizes) and bras.
  • New or gently used seasonal and age-appropriate clothing (ages 16-24), especially men’s clothing. All sizes are needed, and we currently have a great need for larger sizes (XL, XXL) in men’s clothing.
    Please be selective when donating clothing, and only donate items that young people would want to wear and are appropriate for the weather.
  • Backpacks – camping and day-use sizes
  • Shoes and boots, new or in very good condition
  • Tents
  • Blankets and Sleeping Bags
  • New hygiene items including: toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, soap (travel size), non-latex condoms
  • New make-up and beauty supplies
  • Art supplies
  • School supplies
  • Board games
  • Books for youth (ages 16-24)
  • Bathroom items including: towels, soap, etc.
  • Small Trash Cans and Bags
  • Kitchen Supplies
  • Cleaning Products
  • Bedding, blankets, and sheets
  • New or gently used sofas, futons, tables, chairs, and beds (as needed. Reach out before making a contribution.)

Drop-In Kit
(For youth who come to the center during our drop-in times and are experiencing homelessness):

  • 2 small bottles of body wash
  • 1 small bottle of shampoo/conditioner
  • 1 small bar soap
  • 1 nail clipper
  • 1 small lip balm
  • 1 floss
  • 1 small toothpaste
  • 1 small mouthwash
  • 1 comb or brush
  • 1 travel-size wipes
  • 6 condoms
  • 1 small lotion
  • travel-size deodorant
  • 1 toothbrush

Home Hygiene Kit
(For youth who have more stability but are inconsistently housed):

  • 2 white t-shirts
  • Two boxers
  • 4 pairs of socks
  • 6 condoms
  • 1 comb or brush
  • 1 bottle lotion
  • 1 bottle shampoo/ conditioner
  • 1 nail clipper
  • 1 lip balm
  • 1 pack of wipes
  • 1 toothbrush
  • 1 floss
  • 1 bottle mouthwash
